God wants us to grow up… like Christ in everything.

We are not meant to remain as children

Nothing shapes your life more than the commitments you choose to make.
○ Your commitments can develop or destroy you, but either way they will define you. Tell me what you are committed to, & I'll tell you what you'll be in 20 years. We become what we're committed to.
HOW I'll GROW
a. God's part & My part
i. Christ likeness is the result of making Christ like choices and depending on the spirit to help me fulfill those choices.
ii. I must begin to act in new ways, I'll need to let go of some old routines, develop some new habits, & intentionally change the way I think.
1. The holy Spirit will help me with these changes
a. Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it's god who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. - Phil 2;12-13
b. Change my autopilot
i. To change your life, you must change the way you think.
1. Behind everything you do is a thought.
2. Every behavior is motivated by a belief
3. Every action is prompted by an attitude
a. Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts - Proverbs 4:23
b. Let god transform you into a new person by changing the way you think - Romans 12:2b
c. There must be a spiritual renewal of your thoughts and attitudes - Eph. 4:23
4. Stop thinking immature thoughts - self centered/seeking
a. Stop thinking like children. In regard to evil be infants, but in your thinking be like adults. - 1 Corinthians 14:20
b. Those who live following their sinful selves think only about things that their sinful selves want - Romans 8:5
5. Start thinking maturely - Focus on others not me
a. The Christian life is far more than creeds & convictions; it includes conduct and character. Our deeds must be consistent with our creeds, & our beliefs must be backed up with Christ like behavior
b. We should think of their good & try to help them by doing what pleases them.. Even Christ didn't try to please himself - Romans 15:2-3a

P2P: It is never too late to start growing.
V2r: Let god transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of god - what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect. - Romans 12:2b
Q2c: what is one area where I need to stop thinking my way, and start thinking God's way?
